Welcome to AEF Schools

Thank you for taking the time to explore our website and learn more about the programs and services we offer.

As the Executive Director of AEF Schools since 2006, it is my pleasure to introduce you to our community.  AEF Schools provide a unique and supportive environment for students, staff, and families. While we are first and foremost an educational institution, we are also a social anchor, a support system, and a place where every student receives the time, attention, and direction they need to thrive.

We are more than a collection of buildings and teachers. At AEF, we are educators, role models, confidants, disciplinarians, and cheerleaders.  We provide structure, consistency, encouragement, and guidance that allow our students to flourish both academically and socially.  For many of our students, AEF represents the first time—or the first time in a long time—that they have made friends, enjoyed coming to school, trusted their teachers, and felt truly safe.  For many of our parents, it is the first time they have felt understood and experienced peace of mind, knowing their child is supported throughout the school day.

Our holistic approach focuses on the whole child, addressing not just educational needs but also their physical, social, and emotional well-being.  At AEF, we believe in teaching manners, respect, acceptance, tolerance, self-worth, life skills, social skills, and critical thinking—not just academics. By combining these essential skills with a strong academic foundation, we instill confidence and self-worth in our students, preparing them for the future they choose: university, college, vocational training, trade school, the armed forces, the workforce, or forging their own unique path.

If you are still reading, it means you are likely on a journey with your child that is more challenging than most parents or caregivers face.  It means your child has specific needs that haven’t been met in other public or private schools.  It also means that despite the obstacles and setbacks you’ve encountered, you are still searching for the right solution and environment for your child.

You are to be commended for your dedication and perseverance.  It only takes one visit to our campus to see and feel the difference for yourself. And if, for any reason,  AEF is not the right fit for your child, we will gladly guide you toward an environment that better suits your family’s needs.
