About AEF Schools
AEF (Alternative Education Foundation) is a not for profit 501(c)(3) governed by a Board of Directors. The foundation operates schools, conducts educational research, provides professional training, and hosts parent support groups. The schools serve the South Florida area and provide transport for students within Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties.
History and Mission
Founded in 2003 by a group of parents, AEF was created to provide a better education for children who were not thriving in traditional public or private schools. These parents sought a structured, nurturing environment for children with average to above-average intelligence, focusing on academic, social, cognitive, and life skills.
AEF is NOT a restrictive program designed for severe behavioral or emotional challenges.

Why Choose AEF Schools?
If you’re reading this, you likely feel that your child’s current school isn’t meeting their needs or providing the support required to raise a confident, well-mannered, and successful young person. AEF offers an alternative—tailored programs in a structured, supportive environment designed to help every student achieve their full potential.
Admissions Process
AEF’s admissions process begins with an individual appointment where prospective students and families meet with the admissions team. After a thorough screening, the team recommends the program or campus that best suits the student’s needs, ensuring a personalized path to success.
